DESERTFEST AFTERPARTIES MEAN NO SLEEP 'TILL AFTER SLEEP

At this year's Desertfest, there'll be no sleep until after Sleep when the party carries on into the night. As ever, we'll be hosting the finest stoner, doom, sludge and psych DJs around for a series of afterparties. In fact, this year we've gone even further to ensure more bang for your buck with your Desertfest wristband. So now that you've worked out which bands you're catching on Saturday afternoon, it's time to work out which afterparty you're headed to on Friday.

As well as some of the finest DJs around, we've also invited DJ Harris, who will be fronting the official Desertfest Opening Party at The Dev on Friday night.

DJ Harris - third best host of the must listen Desertscene Podcast - has honed his skills in the mean clubs of Coventry, providing the perfect debauched antics and banging tunes for a drink-heavy night.

The Electric Ballroom have decided to go big with their Friday night afterparty, Ballroom Blitz. Taking on a more general rock and metal playlist - because, admit it, you love Slipknot as much as anyone - the Ballroom Blitz is going to be a mad night. Featuring not only some of the heaviest tracks around but also burlesque, fire and acrobatics, as well as competitions and giveaways. Our most unique afterparty of the weekend, it's one not to miss.

Continuing their Friday takeover of The Black Heart, The Quietus Afterparty will, just like their stage, showcase some of the most obscure, exciting and fresh acts in the wider stoner rock cannon. Featuring Quietus DJs, you can expect a dark , heavy and slow atmosphere, which we know you doomheads love.

She's So Heavy, who provide the Saturday afterparty at The Black Heart, was created by Julia (Grave Lines / Casual Nun) as a night to celebrate women in rock. Joined by Harriet (Black Moth) and Jessika (Psychomagik), the trio have been DJing together for over 5 years. For the official Desertfest afterparty they are also bringing Federica (Black Moth /Rat Salad) into the mix. Powered by a shared love of massive riffs and the desire to spotlight female musicians, they will be spinning heavy grooves, classic bangers, electric psych incantations and fist-pumping party jams.

DJ Harris returns on Sunday night to atone for the crimes committed at the opening party. The Desertfest Closing Party, which happens at The Black Heart on Sunday, will be one last chance for riffs, raucousness and revelry. But Harris isn't the only 'special' guest on Sunday, as we have more familiar faces in store. So get yourself down to The Black Heart, and bring everyone with you for one last big party... before Desertfest 2018 rolls into town.

*All afterparties are free to weekend ticket holders and relevant daily wristband holders. Ballroom Blitz is also open to non-wristband holders for £6 entry.
