GROUNDHOGS, SONIC GYPSY AND BLOWN OUT COMPLETE DESERTFEST 2017 LINEUP!

We know you caught that sneaky “TBC” on our last lineup poster, but we bet none of you expected three more great additions to this year’s Desertfest London. With Satan’s Satyrs unfortunately having to pull out of the festival, we thought you deserved three killer additions to get down early for on the Friday and Saturday of Desertfest 2017.

First up, we have Ken Pustelnik’s Groundhogs, who bring that 70s heavy blues swagger in spades. Forming in 1963 and spanning several incarnations, Groundhogs were around right at the peak of British rock and roll dominance, even so far as supporting The Rolling Stones by request in the early 70s. Huge riffs, assured solos and powerful vocals, Groundhogs will bring a hurricane of classic blues rock when the open the Electric Ballroom on the Saturday of Desertfest.

Next, opening up the HDP / WPC stage at the Underworld on Friday is Sonic Gypsy. A one-man psychedelic punk blues explosion, Sonic Gypsy will be one of the most unique bands on the Desertfest lineup. High energy rock and roll at its core, but infused with a range of influences ranging from Motorhead to John Lee Hooker, from Black Flag to Bo Diddley, Sonic Gypsy will have you amped up as soon as the doors swing open.

Our final addition to Desertfest 2017 is psych drone trio Blown Out, who open The Black Heart on Friday. Made up of members of various Desertfest alumni, including  Bong, 11Paranoias, Khunnt and Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs, you can probably already tell this is a band that trips hard. Expansive soundscapes and meandering guitars, you’ll be sure to zone out to Blown Out and let the music wash over you.

With our lineup now completed by these three great additions, it’s sure to be another huge weekend in Camden, but you’ll have to act quick if you still need tickets. Day Tickets are selling fast and only 50 Weekend Tickets remain, so don’t wait until the end of the week if you want to get to Desertfest 2017. Buy your tickets today.
