European and continental American bands, admittedly, have had the monopoly on the stoner rock scene since it’s inception roughly thirty years ago. Thankfully though, our scene is spreading out and leading to killer vibes from further afield; The Great Machine are proof of this.

Israel’s The Great Machine are a power trio bringing righteous music from the Holy Land. Most certainly as inspired by Zep and Sabbath as anything in the modern underground, though not adverse to their fair share of chugging doom riffs, The Great Machine’s latest release, 2018’s Respect put’s forth a heavy, though still tripped out experience.

Sure to be one of the highlights at The Dev throughout the weekend, be sure to check out The Great Machine when they play Desertfest 2019.
