THE PICTUREBOOKs to bring the fuzzy blues at desertfest 2017!

Motorbikes, beards, cut-off denim and fuzzy blues riffs. If this sounds like your bag, then you’re probably going to love The Picturebooks. This heavy blues duo hail from Germany, but their latest release echoes a life of dust-covered boots and blistering desert heat.

Imaginary Horse, released via RidingEasy Records early last year, is a polished collection of slinky blues-rock. The record chugs along effortlessly; ‘Your Kisses burn Like Fire’ and ‘Hail These Words’ shift gear from breathy moans to raspy howling at the push of a pedal, and the album’s thumping riffs and slide guitar trick you into thinking they’re from somewhere a little hotter than Gütersloh. With this album, not only did they reduce in numbers to become a duo, but they’ve certainly evolved from the more garagey sounds of prior releases Artificial Tears, List of People To Kill and Maybe if We Run, while still keeping elements of that underlying identity alive.

So raise your arms and praise the blues to their biker-bar gospel anthems as The Picturebooks roll through Desertfest 2017.
