Hailing from the California desert are Avon. The music is hard and heavy, with raw driving rhythms, powerful melodies and something to say. Their musical bond comes from years of playing in their respective bands, often together in California’s desert cities, Los Angeles and on many European tours. Each member brings with them varied influence and experience to form a unique and driven sound.
Alfredo Hernandez is best known for playing drums with Kyuss, Queens of the Stoneage and Whiskey & Knives. Alfredo is a living drumming desert legend who keeps things tight, maintaining that steady like clockwork powerful thumping backbeat in his unmistakeable style.
James is a British emmy nominated composer singer – guitarist who has worked on projects with many artists including Geoff Barrow of Portishead right across the musical board to Philthy Animal Taylor formerly of Motorhead.
June Kato is a Japanese bass player who worked together with James and drummer Peter Finestone fornerly of Bad Religion in their local LA psychedelic rock band that was called Black on Sunshine. Avon are currently working on material for their third LP with a view torelease and tour playing festivals.
The band play a high energy set of tracks from their two LPs Mad Marco and Dave’s Dungeon and they are likely to drop into Alfredo’s past at any point during their live show!
