Underground Doom veterans, Brighton’s Sea Bastard are a force to be reckoned with in the realm of heavy music. Delivering uncompromisingly heavy, monolithic riffs with a slow, crushing intensity, the band has built a formidable reputation for their raw and immersive sound. Since forming in 2011 from the ashes of sludge and doom outfits Jovian and Funeral Hag, Sea Bastard have forged a path of sonic devastation, blending elements of funeral doom, sludge, and classic doom metal into their own towering wall of sound.
Their live performances are a relentless experience, enveloping audiences in waves of bone-rattling distortion and guttural growls, earning them slots at major festivals across the UK and Europe and tours with Primitive Man, Graves at Sea and Sourvein. With a discography that includes the critically acclaimed Scabrous (2013) and Great Barrier Riff (2016), the band continues to push the limits of heaviness.
Now, Sea Bastard are working on some insane new material having almost completed their long-awaited forthcoming album, to take their sound to even darker, heavier extremes. At the same time, they’re revisiting their self-titled LP for live shows, bringing back some of their earliest and most crushing tracks.
For fans of Burning Witch, Noothgrush, and Khanate, Sea Bastard deliver an unrelenting onslaught of darkness and weight, cementing their place as one of the UK’s heaviest underground doom bands.
