The band has an oppressive, dense sound, harking back to the murky 90s likes of Incantation, Gorguts and Mortician in terms of the overall feel, including intense, guttural vocals. A misanthropic view of the world powers Smouldering Tomb’s blistering songs, as evidenced by the the first e.p. Maledictions Upon the Wretched, self-released in June 2025.
