The wait is over. There have been disbelievers and the faith has been tested! After 14 years – Sons of Alpha Centauri having opened the first ever DesertFest mainstage in 2012 will return to London for DesertFest 2025.
Members of the band played the Legends of the Desert headline slot in 2013 with Yawning Man and as guests of Fatso Jetson for the Desert Jam in 2023 but SOAC themselves have not performed at DesertFest since its very first incarnation. In 2025 – all that will change.
Formed in 2001 in Swale, Kent – Sons of Alpha Centauri are a collaborative instrumental alternative rock band that have gone on musical pilgrimages with the likes of Karma to Burn and Yawning Man to form an underground sub-culture of collaboration. The band are also notable in the post-hardcore scene having worked with members of Far, Will Haven and Godflesh.
This exclusive London DesertFest performance will see SOAC return to their instrumental riff rock roots with dark anthems, introspective interludes and tidal waves of distortion.
