Rabid and feral, the smog-drenched and faceless extreme metal band ‘WALLOWING’ have wasted no time since their inception in 2018. Shattering reality and seemingly predicting the downfall of civilization with their critically acclaimed Sci-fi concept album ‘PLANET LOSS’, the band have gone from strength to strength boasting an ever growing cult following of devoted fans. This is not just due to their experimental and unique approach to extreme metal but also their fully immersive live shows. Akin to a scene from BLADE RUNNER, utilizing dual lasers and a wieldable smoke cannon to create a truly intense gig environment quickly gained the band the attention and endorsement of global press such as VICE, KERRANG!, Metal Hammer and more whilst earning them slots at festivals such as London’s Desertfest in 2022, an invitation to play alongside WIEGEDOOD in Switzerland and a sell out re-release of their debut album in Asia via Gutless Records.
Since the release of 2023’s ‘EARTH REAPER’, the monolithically epic concept album continuing on from 2019s ‘PLANET LOSS’ (released by Church Road Records (UK) and distributed via Deathwish Inc in the EU & USA), the band have received high praise from the likes of KERRANG! and Metal Hammer (giving the band full printed ‘introducing’ articles in their magazines as well as glowing reviews) and high-scoring reviews globally from the likes of Invisible Oranges, Cvlt Nation, The Quietus, Echoes & Dust, Noizze, GBHBL and more, granting them opportunities to play at ArcTangent Festival 2023 and tour alongside the likes of FROZEN SOUL (USA) and CONAN (UK).
Following in the footsteps of ‘PLANET LOSS’, 2023’s ‘EARTH REAPER’ made multiple notable ‘Albums Of The Year’ lists and nominations including Metal Hammer, The Quietus, Invisible Oranges, the Damnation Festival listeners poll, Fistful of Metal Magazine (print), Cvlt Nation and a very wholesome shout out from Ben Hutcherson of KHEMMIS dubbing the record a personal favourite of 2024 via The Noizze Podcast.
